Physics is an intriguing branch of science that nurtures the primary knowledge for scientific advancement of research and technology both.

This department was shifted from Madhav College  to science college in 1969. Pursuing Physics after 12th demands conceptualization knowledge and most important imaginations that suits well to the words said by Sir Elbert Einstein, “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. Physics is one of the oldest disciplines of science and offers vast career opportunities to the aspirants. The department having three well equipped laboratories including darkroom. The department also having two well – furnished lecture theaters of capacity more than 80 students. Department have number of experiments according to the syllabus.Computer and Internet facility in Physics labs is available for students.This department has introduced electronics as a self finance subject in B.Sc. programme in 2007.

This department has introduced PG programme in 2021. This give rises and opens the research field. It is pleasure for department that Dr. Pramod Malviya who the co-ordinator of PG Physics programme  also registered as a research guide. Head of the department Dr. Ajay Kumar Saxena is a member of board of studies of electronics.
