Department of Chemistry
Established in 1969 with the inception of college, this is one of the oldest and biggest department of college. Department has UG, PG Ph.D. ,Diploma and certificate programmes running under its canopy. Department has a vision to convert young students coming from diverse socioeconomic background into responsible Chemistry practitioners in the field of their choice with care and concern for the society at large.
The Chemistry group aims to be recognized nationally in the field of Chemistry based research, producing scholars and leaders of tomorrow with the integrated use of training, career development efforts, strong library support, ICT based teaching learning pedagogy and strong organisational support.
Vibrant group of faculty members, staff, Research scholars and students aspire to create an ambience for the smooth pursuit of scholarly activities in research and training, leading to novel innovations, in addition to carrying out fundamental studies in chemistry.

Department has state of the art advanced Instrumentation Research Laboratory with Equipment like HPLC, FTIR, Double beam UV Spectrometers, Microwave assisted organic synthesis system which houses MERCK Water solution system too.
Students from department are making department proud with selections in National level entrance examinations like CSIR NET, SET, GATE and JAM.
Faculty are members of Academic societies and boards
Head of the Department Dr. Brijesh Pare is Chairperson ACT (Association of Chemistry Teachers). Where as all faculty are members of ACT and members of American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, Indian Chemical Society, Chemical Research society of India.
Department has integrated ICT into teaching Learning pedagogy and completely following Blooms Taxonomy for participative student-based learning
Department has been organizing trainings on Techniques like
Chromatography including HPLC Spectroscopy Including FTIR & UV Cheminformatics

Department has functional MOUs with Research Organizations, Industry as well as with international Universities.
